It is a privately held, family-owned Emirati conglomerate founded in 1992 whose business spans shopping malls, retail, leisure and property, structured into Majid Al Futtaim Properties, Retail and Ventures. The group owns and operates Mall of the Emirates, the City Centre mall network, Ski Dubai and VOX Cinemas, and holds the Carrefour franchise across the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Real estate sits within the Properties arm, which develops mixed-use master communities — in Dubai, the lagoon-centred Tilal Al Ghaf in Al Barsha South and the forest-themed Ghaf Woods in Dubailand, alongside Al Zahia in Sharjah and Al Mouj Muscat in Oman.
